Mercedes was taken from us by a violent predator. Mercede's mother's boyfrien Francisco. He waited
until he was alone with Mercedes and viciously killed her.
Mercedes was a sweet little girl and she loved tweety. Just learning to walk she always had a smile
on her face and tweety in her arms.
Mercedes's has 2 brothers and 2 sisters, who love her and always keep her in their prayers.
Everyone who had the privledge of knowing Mercedes know the terrible pain the her passing has caused
us.
Even more so because we know that she suffered needlessly.
Mama will always love you mercedes you are always in my heart and I know one day soon I will be able
to see your beautiful face.
Because of this needless act of violence We are left with emptiness in our hearts and a need to know
why.
Everyday that passes I wonder what you would look like, would you have my eyes? Would you wear your
hair long or short? Would you be a girly girl like your sisters or a tomboy?
How I miss you my precious little girl.

She is the treasure of our lives,
the blessing of our hearts,
the joy of our living.
Now life is ended and death has come.
By the power of your love,

A Child Loaned

What kind of place would heaven be with all its streets of gold, if all the souls, that dwell up there like yours and mine, were old? How strange would heaven’s music sound when harps begin to ring, if children were not gathered ‘round to help the angels sing. The children that God sends to us are only just a loan, He knows we need their sunshine to make the house a home. We need the inspiration of a baby’s blessed smile. He doesn’t say they’ve come to stay, just lends them for a while. Sometimes it takes them years to do the work for which they come. Sometimes in just a month or two our Father calls them home. I like to think some souls up there bear not one sinful scar. I love to think of heaven as a place where children are.
Lord our God, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Mercedes was violently taken from us. Come swiftly to her aid, have mercy on her, and comfort her family and friends by the power and protection of the cross. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
My sweet babygirl,
The time is near. It will be 13 years since we lost you. Every year when this time rolls around, I fall into a great sadness. I know that you are in heaven, but I wish you were here. I try to be strong for all those around, I just want you to know that even though the years are passing quickly, You may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten. I love you my sweet little girl.
